On Master’s Sunday take a Video Golf Lesson from Pro Conrad Shindler

 

As we all are trying to stay put and weather the coronavirus outbreak, why not take a video golf lesson from a PGA touring Pro? Really?

 

Normally, Conrad Shindler would be preparing for a Korn Ferry Tour event. Although today, normal is a foreign concept. The coronavirus outbreak has forced the cancellation and postponement of professional tournaments and major championships around the world. ALL of the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA events have been canceled or postponed. Usually, we would be watching the final round of the Master’s this weekend! Instead, we are watching a replay of the 2019 final round on CBS.

 

What was once called the Web Tour is now known as the Korn Ferry Tour. Korn Ferry is a global organizational consulting firm, that has a mission of helping people and organizations exceed their potential, as well as these up-and-coming golf pro’s! The Korn Ferry Tour will award PGA Tour membership to the tour’s 50 leading players – the top 25 from the regular season points list and 25 more from the three-event playoff system. However, all of this is on hold for now!

 

Without the tour, Shindler, like so many, needs an income. So, a few weeks ago, the 31-year-old hopped on Twitter and threw out an offer: $20 golf lessons via video. A $20 golf lesson? Why not? Sign me up!

 

 

Shindler’s first lesson was just a few hours after his initial tweet. He helped his first client with his hands and alignment and gave a few tips on how to make more consistent contact. “I watched the video and then I set my iPad on the kitchen counter, and I’m there telling them what I want to see them do and feel in the different drills,” explained Shindler. “I’m showing them how to do the drill and I’ll send it back. I want them to visually see what I’m trying to get them to do.”

 

So I followed suit and signed up for a lesson. Take a look at the two videos I sent Conrad.

 

 

 

Conrad got back to me right away letting me know that the response from his tweet was Overwhelming. I was so glad for him and I so hope his $20 lessons continue to be a great success! Within a few more days, he got back to me with this great video lesson! While he was a little off on the course (we were at Pine Needles in Southern Pines) he was spot on on my “using my arms too much”!  My teaching pro here in Southern Pines, former touring pro Donna Andrews says the same thing!
